Our Mission is to promote the general welfare of the foster children in Mecklenburg County. The Mecklenburg County Foster Adopt Parent Association is committed to providing meaningful and accessible support, education and networking services which will continually enhance the skills and abilities of foster parents to deliver the best care possible to the children in their home and to support foster parents in achieving safety, permanence and well-being for the children and youth in their care.
Becoming a Foster Parent is the first step in becoming an advocate for the needs of foster children in Mecklenburg County. MCFPA has several links on our web site to other organizations that can help provide the care that these children need.
MCFPA has begun to develop a relationship with the county?s Youth and Family Services to assist and promote training for all foster parents across the county.
We encourage all foster parents to become a part of their local association in an effort to develop support groups and take advantage of the programs provided to them through their association. Currently we are looking for volunteers to lead several committees and initiatives to increase the value of our organization.
